Proud to be an Alpha Gam Girl

Recruitment (aka Rush) is one of my favorite times of the year! I could write a million details about this year, but you either a) were there, b) have been there, or c) probably don't really care to read all the boring details. :) But let me just say this: I am so blessed to be a part of this sisterhood. Part of why I love Recruitment is because I always get to spend time with sisters that I'm not around as much during the rest of the year. Many sisters I have very little in common with other than Alpha Gam, but that is the tie that binds us all. It's really not something I can explain at all, but I really love them a lot.

Another great thing is that we get to see lots of alum & advisors. And they are the best. :) I have so much respect for our advisors. They invest a good deal of time in this chapter & love it even though they haven't been collegians for several years. They are women who still show love to their sisters day in & day out. And this is what I want. Once I leave, Alpha Gamma Delta is something that I will still be a part of. It's a sisterhood that lasts long after college.

One of the alum wrote a poem a few years ago that we use for Pref Night (aka Preference Night, the last night of Rush). This is the last stanza:

There will come a time when we are left without words
Left without sign or badge
And yet, I will know you as you will me.
This is the moment when all the tears and laughter
And the love and fears combine
To create a single moment that all sisters
Know lights their way home.

"God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect." -Hebrews 11:40
