Miscellany Monday

one. This weekend has included a lot of this.

two.  This is the conversation my mom & I had this past week:

So you'd think either something horribly tragic had happened, or she had great news...right?  I call for her to tell me that she saw a preview for a Brad Pitt movie where he stole a line of Jennifer Aniston's from Friends.

three. One of my favorite etsy shops has a giveaway going on here!

four. In addition to me own personal Law & Order: SVU marathon, I've watched some old episodes of How I Met Your Mother.  For those of you fans, do you remember this part?  

Ted: Okay, I'm going to say something out loud that I've been doing a pretty good job of not saying out loud lately.  What you & Tony have, what I thought for a second you & I had, what I know that Marshall & Lily have, I want that.  I do.  I keep waiting for it to happen.  I'm waiting for it to happen.  I guess I'm just tired of waiting.  And that is all I'm going to say on that subject.

 Stella: I know that you're tired of waiting.  And you might have to wait a little while but she's on her way, Ted.  And she's getting here as fast as she can. 

I loved that.  And it's how Stella redeemed herself in my mind after leaving Ted at the alter.

five. It's the 4th of July.  And I don't have anything else to do, so I think I'm going to need some of this today.

Weekend Update

one. That title makes me want to watch some SNL.  I'll add that to my agenda this weekend.  I love that it's on NetFlix because, even when I had cable/satellite, I always forgot about it, or was ready for bed by the time it came on.

two.I'm a little depressed that I really know no one here (yet), so I probably won't be going anywhere to see fireworks this weekend.  Everyone I do know is out of town.  At the beach.  :(  And the pity party ends now.

three. Because I plan on spending all day Saturday, Sunday, & Monday by the pool.  So this is gonna need to change.

four. And I was on the winning team for our game on Monday, so I get off 30 minutes early today.  And on a Friday afternoon, 30 minutes is a LONG time.

five. And I have a book that I need to finish (by the pool, of course), & some paintings to work on (ones that I'm real excited for you to see.)  Sneak peek:

Shop Update

Time for a little shop update...still trying to get some new items going & make some changes to the shop since I moved.

I also recently did this one for a friend...forgot to take a real picture before I shipped it off to her.  But I really love it & am thinking of doing some more like this but with different words.  Suggestions?

On a side note: I'm not happy with these photos. I had the perfect place at home to take them, & now I just can't find anywhere that the lighting is good & I like the background.  Anyone have a good idea?

I just had this thought this weekend: I just assumed that the way I was saying this word was right...but I don't know where I got my pronunciation or if it's right.  And it's not on Wikipedia yet, so I don't know how to find the answer!  Thoughts?

shop update

I've been kind of absent from here lately.  However, I've still been reading all the blogs I follow & have found such encouragement there.

For now, just a little shop update.

Just added {Knit Together}.  One of my new favorites.  Perfect timing, too...great for baby showers, or for Mother's Day for a brand new mom.  :)  So many new beginnings these days.  That's what I love about spring.

Another I added recently is {Believe}.  Such a big part of my life right now.  Trusting, believing, & waiting on God's plans.
