In case I haven't made it clear, this is my absolute favorite time of year. I was just reflecting about where I was last year at this point. For years, I've said Mary was my favorite Bible "character." When she goes to pondering those things in her heart, it just makes me ponder, too. Not that Mary wasn't an amazing woman of God at all (because, clearly, I think she's kind of great), but we sometimes tend to overlook the others involved in the story.
I really like to read something in the Bible & then write about it from the perspective of those "characters." I did this last year around this time & probably will do it again this year. It always makes me think. I learn so much from it. It's not just a story that we all know. It's real, it's true, it's life-altering, it's one moment in time that changed our lives forever.
