"i got wingworm."

Ok, I guess with a title like that I have to explain from the very beginning.

My church had Backyard Bible Club this past week.  A little more on that here.  I helped with crafts most of the time.  [This story is for you, Beth.] --->  One night as I'm standing & helping the kids with what they're doing, this girl leans against my arm & then immediately looks at me & says "I got wingworm."  Um...excuse me?  You have what?  So I finally realize that she is saying ringworm.  While I'm thinking & trying to decipher what she's saying, I realize that she's talking about how contagious it is.  So, the kid knowingly tried to give me ringworm.  My thoughts: thanks girl, I'll now be taking 12 baths tonight.  (Like I need an excuse for another bubble bath...

Other interesting things that were said:

"This is VBS???  That's why we've been talking about Jesus all week?  If I'd known that I wouldn't have come!"  Sadly, this really happened.  Not only is it said that he was so opposed to talking about Jesus, but also sad that it took him until day 5 to put that together.

"I can't play dose water games because I just got a perm & my mama say dat'll be fity-fid dolla down da drain."  Now imagine hearing this 12 times a day.  She was my favorite :)

And now, because I can't really put it into words...some pictures.

there was LOTS of water fun at Rec.  which was great for the kids since it was 800 degrees & very humid.  not so great when you had to calm them down after that.

favorite picture of the week.  I just love that the verse in his hand is so clear...& that big grin...& the half-eaten apple in his lap...

it was hard for them to pay attention when it was so hot & everything was going on right around them...& they were SOAKED.
