"...if I was ever going somewhere, I was running!"

Just like Forrest Gump.

[here]
Except not...crazy man ran across the whole country.

You see what had happened was... (that's for you, Brandi)
Well, I was deliberately not saying anything about the new "hobby" in my life because then I knew I'd be committed...but since Chloe busted me, I guess I will... ;)

Somehow the other night my mom went from arguing with me, telling me that running plans were stupid, to saying, "fine then, we start tomorrow."

I keep reading about Couch to 5k, so that's what we're doing.  Today was day 2.  And so far...I actually am liking it.  What?  Did I just say that???  Granted, it hasn't made me feel like I'm dying or anything yet.  I may take this all back in a few days.

But I don't want to take it back...I want to like it.  So...I spent some money on it.  [That's what really makes me stick to something.]

$2.99
C25k app
P.S. This is great.  Has the whole plan programmed into it so you just click which day you're on, it tells you when to walk & run & you can listen to your music at the same time.

$2.97
iPod armband case
$0.02 on Amazon :)

$24.61
Nike+
When I realized I already had Nike+ shoes, I clearly needed this.  Thank you, Apple store.  Very excited for this to come!

Grand total: $30.57.
Think $30.97 can convince me to run?

So there...I said it.  I'm attempting (key word) to run.  Chloe's talked me into a virtual race & I may just need to go ahead & register for the Christmas 5k that we have every year in Madison.

Here goes nothing.

  1. Keep the running up! I hope you fall in love with all that it has to offer--the pain and sweat, as well as the FUN. I swear, it makes me a happier person! :]

  3. Well be careful because I decided to take up running about a month ago...it didn't end well. I came down to the lobby and somebody said, "Brandi, are you going running in the rain?"
Well that wasn't the plan, but I was already dressed for the occasion and I didn't look that bad. It was pouring by the time I reached the bottom of the hill. I almost got hit by a car in the crosswalk. Then I stopped under the little pavilion thing behind the square to get some of the water out of my eyes and text Lauren to tell her what a bad idea this all was. A cop pulled over and I thought I was in trouble for indecent exposure...oh did I mention that since I didn't know it was raining and hadn't done laundry I was wearing a white shirt...He says to me, "Hey its raining" yep. Then cop number two arrives on the scene and I am certain they are going to arrest me. He says to me, "You're all wet" yep.Running for me=BAD. Running for you hopefully=anything better than that.
