day 17
something you're looking forward to
Well, there are lots of big things I'm looking forward to. I mean, I'm 23, a basically unemployed college graduate, & single...you can guess some of the major ones. But I'm not going to go there. I'm naturally a planner - too much so. I like to know what's happening way ahead of time & have every hour planned out. And that's not how God wants us to live. He has a much bigger plan for us than we could imagine & we have to depend on Him to clue us in to that plan moment by moment...though lots of times I wish He'd just give me a 5-year plan at least.
So instead, I'm only focusing on little things in the near future.
I'm looking forward to...
Bible Study tonight. I love spending time with those girls.
Game night on Friday.
Seeing all of my little cousins in their costumes this weekend.
Breaking ground on our church building really soon!
Date with the TSFs.
Christmas shopping.
Wrapping lots of Christmas presents at Mulberry.
Thanksgiving.
Christmas.
"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you & not to harm you, plans to give you a hope & a future.'"
Jeremiah 29:11
"We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps."
Proverbs 16:9

I like your idea of only mentioning little things to look forward to. I over-plan too much and end up feeling like I'm missing out on what's right in front of me sometimes - so I think I need to figure out how to focus on more immediate stuff as well.
ReplyDeleteGreat verses to include! I can't wait to see what He has in store for me!
