announcing...{drum roll}...ten.thirty-one.

Finally ready to announce what I've been working on lately...

I've been wanting to start an etsy shop for a long time, but couldn't quite decide what I wanted to sell.  Then one day I realized that I really loved doing mixed media.  I made a few canvases & then fell in love with it.

The name ten.thirty-one. comes from 1 Corinthians 10:31.

"So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, 

do all to the glory of God."

I want this to be about Him...not about me.  I want it to be a way to encourage others, both through the Scriptures in my paintings, as well as financially.

The neat thing about all of this: I am a perfectionist.  If I'm doing the simplest little crafty project, I'll think for days on how I want to do it.  And when what I envision doesn't come out right, I re-do it. 

Each painting I've done so far, I just sat down & did it.  I didn't labor over what verse to put on it.  I opened my Bible & one jumped out at me.  Or several times I've been driving & heard a part of a song...one I've heard hundreds of times before, but a line or two would jump out at me & would stick in my head until I painted it.  I love that.  It makes me know that this is something I'm supposed to do.  This is part of God's purpose for me for this season of my life.

So, go take a look!

And now a question: I have some buttons, etc. made for my sidebar...but they don't match my blog!  I re-do my blog all the time...I realize that.  Do I suck it up & *try* to deal with it not matching, or change it?  Let's be honest, with this lovely weather we've been having in Georgia lately, I'm probably going to need some brighter, sunshiney colors soon anyway, right?
