This concept is all too familiar in today's society.  Known Christian scholars are turning from the Truth & toward a more comfortable gospel.  The Gospel was never meant to be comfortable.  If we never feel convicted, it's safe to say that the "gospel" that we're hearing & living is not that of Jesus Christ.

Why conviction?  As frustrating as it can be, it's also a welcome reminder that we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us.  The Holy Spirit seals the deal & is the guarantee of our salvation.

"In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, & believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of His glory."
