Key Ingredients to a Perfect Day

June 12 and it's finally starting to feel like summer. Even though I'm only in class for another week, I think I've just now figured out how to juggle summer classes enough that it will still actually feel like this glorious season that it is. Because I try to be a selfless person, I'm willing to share my secrets with you. So here's what you do:

  1. Finish all homework by noon.
  2. Go to the gym. Now, this sounds like it would be the exact opposite of fun. But this is how it's done: gripe about it, put on your big girl panties & go. With Casey Tatum. That's the important part. Case & I act like it's the worst thing in the world. Then we get there & have SO much fun. I mean...the kind of fun where other people are staring because they think we're insane because no one is supposed to giggle that much at the gym. Well, let me tell you...we do. You'd probably be embarrassed.
  3. Go on a stroll through the park. Pray for it to rain. Yes, TO rain. I did not leave out a "not." We took a little walk & then it started to rain (just as we'd hoped). Normal people would leave. We, on the other hand, immediately ran to the swing set. Now, I did finally convince Case to leave when it started thundering a LOT...but for awhile, it was just perfect.
  4. Go home & take showers. A shower feels REAL good after you've rolled out of bed, sweated, & been rained on.
  5. Anne of Green Gables the Continuing Story with a semi-Anne virgin. Ok, so Case had seen all but this one. Still...experiencing this with her was perfect. I'm real particular about who I show my favorite movies to for fear that they may not love them as much as me. She passed with flying colors.
  6. Take a bubble bath. Yes, I'm aware of the fact that I already instructed you to take a shower. However, I believe that you can never be too clean. Plus, you just can't turn down a bubble bath!
  7. Curl up in bed with a good Karen book.
