Doorkeeper.

Berekiah, Elkanah, Obed-edom, & Jehiah.  Louie Giglio talked about these 4 men at Live Link last night.  Some of the names may sound familiar, but if you're like everyone at Live Link last night, you probably don't know these guys' story.

It all starts with the Ark of the Covenant (1 Chronicles 15).  At this point, lots of people had died because they touched or opened the Ark, not treating it with the respect that God had commanded.  One more time, David decides to try to take the Ark back to Jerusalem.  When they did, these 4 men were the door holders.  They held open a door for the representation of the holiness of God to be ushered in.  This makes me think of when we were kids...it was such an honor to be the line leader or the door holder.  Now, we would think nothing of this job...but what about if we think of it this way?

Louie pointed out that a doorkeeper is someone who has been in.  They've seen how great it is, yet they choose to come back out & open the door for others coming in.  They are able to see a person's face when they enter, & see that changed face as the exit.

Simple job, but these 4 guys' NAMES are in the Bible!  IN THE BIBLE.  That's kind of big...  What more could we possibly want to be than doorholders for the very presence of God?
