It's Snowing...Therefore, I Blog

I woke up this morning to a lovely @cait_moss tweet saying that little kid school was canceled.  I immediately ran to the window to see this:

Then I checked my e-mail to find that classes were delayed until 10.  Didn't help me much...until I got to the next e-mail that said they'd been canceled altogether!

After realizing that I wasn't going to be able to go to sleep, I did what anyone who knows me would expect.  I put Hope Floats in my DVD player & curled up under the covers.  :)

So...now is an excellent time to catch up on my blogging.  I have an ongoing list on my iPod of things I need to remember to blog about.  Sadly, I'm not sure that I remember what all of these cryptic notes mean.  Apparently they were important enough to blog about at one point though.

So, #1 on the list.  A music recommendation.  Back in January I bought Matt Redman's new album, We Shall Not Be Shaken.

I listened to it, I liked it...but lately, I LOVE it.  LOVE.

One of my favorites is called "My Hope."  It starts off with a hymn (The Solid Rock), which is always a plus, & then goes into this:

When the mountains are falling
When the waters are rising
I shall be safe in You
Though the nations are quaking
Every kingdom be shaken
Still I will rest in You

The CD was released in August but I didn't know anything about it until the beginning of January, so let's just pretend it came out then.  I bought it the week before the earthquake in Haiti.  And now re-fell in love with it the week of the earthquake in Chile.  It's just incredible to me that the song talks about the nations quaking and all of these things that we have no control over, yet God is totally in control.

In conclusion, the whole album is great, but my favorites are..."This Is How We Know" (& I love that his wife helped write this one), "We Will Not Be Shaken," "How Great Is Your Faithfulness," "Remembrance (Communion Song," and "For Your Glory" (a great one to listen to LOUD in the car!).  So...check it out :)
