20 questions...but actually just 8

My bloggy friend Morgan asked me to play along & answer a few questions.
Always happy to take part in bloggy fun :)

1. If you're a reader, what's your favorite book?
Grrr!...it's so hard to pick a favorite.  I love Redeeming Love, And the Shofar Blew (both by Francine Rivers), To Kill a Mockingbird (Harper Lee), Christy (Catherine Marshall).  I love almost anything by Karen Kingsbury or Nicholas Sparks, but I couldn't really pick favorites.

2. Why did you choose the career you're in?
Well, let's see...the career of unemployment.  Not exactly true.  I work part-time at my mom's toy store while I'm waiting to find a job, but like most new graduates...it's a rough time to be looking.  However, my degree is in English with a Concentration in Writing & Publication & also an Associates & minor in Sociology.  Mouthful.  I really want to work for some kind of non-profit one day.  Why?  I believe that if it is our goal to serve God, we can do so through any career...but I want one where I can write something that I feel like really matters.  I want to make life a little better for others, particularly those that tend to be looked over by most of society - whether that be the poorest of poor, the illiterate, the homeless, the abused, little kids in a 3rd world country...something like that.

3. Dream car...something practical or flashy?
Definitely practical.  Right now I have the car I've had since I was 15...a 1996 Honda Accord.  I honestly would just like a newer Honda.  I love my car & it has taken care of me for a long time...but I don't particularly love the number of miles on it, the fact that I just had to get a new muffler (who knew those mattered?), all of its annoying rattles & squeaks, the fact that I can't use the power outlets which means I can't plug in my iPod or a GPS, & the fact that I can only roll down two of its four windows, etc.

4. Would you rather be a giver or receiver?
Of course, we all love to receive.  We can lie & say we don't care, but we do.  I love getting a gift that someone I love put a lot of thought into.  But I really love giving...I get way more excited about finding the perfect Christmas gifts for people than I do about actually receiving anything.

5. Are you a spender or a saver?
My banker dad would say I'm a spender.  It's so rare that I have enough money to feel like I can spend any, so when I do, I probably spend a little more than I should, but I think I'm a pretty good saver with what I do have...

6. Where did you meet your significant other?
to. be. determined.

7. Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Definitely more of a night owl, but once I'm up in the mornings, I'm up & am usually pretty happy about it.  Plus, I enjoy a good sunrise.

8. What has been your biggest achievement?
I guess most looking at my life would just say graduating from college.  I think the biggest achievement is not just graduating, but all the growing that I did during college.  I think I really allowed God to make some big changes in me, & I like the person I am now much better than that person who started college a few years ago.

Ok, I think I tag more now...so McKinlie, Meredith, Brandi, Sara, & Alison, you're it.
