This weekend was my 1st post-grad visit to Dahlonega. I like to call it that...it sounds official.
I wasn't sure how it was going to be going back, everyone else now being busy with school & Alpha Gam activities, someone else living in my room. But...the apartment doesn't even look the same anymore. All the furniture is different & "my" room, aka Meredith's is now pink, pink, pink, without a trace of zebra. ;) It all looks great, but it's not really sad because it doesn't look like the place where I spent the last 2 years.
I took McKinlie up with me because she wanted to meet my "college friends." We had a great time hanging out with Cait, Ashley, Alison, & Sara [missed you, Brandi!].
Saturday we walked around the square.
finally real friends!
We went to see Ashley at work at The Embroidery Shop & I got this great lunchbox! Can't wait to use it at work this week!
After that, we went back to the apartment & just hung out.
And...one of the most important parts of the weekend...we introduced McKinlie to the wonder that is lime chicken tacos & half-baked cookie brownies smothered in french vanilla ice cream.
There was only one downside of this weekend (well...besides leaving). And this is what you need to know before I tell you what that was: Cait & I make great playlists. The greatness is often determined by the name. You know how a rose wouldn't smell as sweet with any other name? Same with playlists. So as a prize for this weekend, I made her a CD: {pray}list. Lots of songs about healing & believing...if you read about what's going on in her life right now, it'll make sense.
Downside: "I broke the praylist, I broke the praylist, I broke the praylist!!!!!"
Good news: I made 2.
Miss these girls so much, but am thankful that I am happy where I am. If not...going back would just be too much bear.
looks like such a fun trip!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure that the quote is that a rode WOULD smell just as sweet by any other name??? Not sure though, I could have misunderstood this for years. I miss you!
