Friday Catch Up

Didn't really mean to abandon the blog this week...guess I just got busy.  To catch up, a list for you:

one.I'm working on several custom orders right now.  Want to see a preview of one?  :)  I love this one so far.

two. Harry last night was SO good.  There were one or two things I would've changed, but other than that, it was all exactly how I imagined it when I read the book.

three.  Had to go to three places last night to find coffee because everywhere was closed.  I guess I just assumed that if I was awake, they'd be open.  False.  However, that coffee must've done the job because I didn't even almost fall asleep the whole time.  And if you know me, that's a BIG deal.  I fall asleep watching a movie in the middle of the day.

four. Off to a wedding of a sweet friend this afternoon & then a slumber party at the Hollenbecks' :)

five.  And this has nothing to do with any of that...but I just found these pictures saved on my computer.  Can't wait until November 3 when these two are back!

[Yes, I'm a dork & took screenshots when I watched it on iTunes...how would I not want to capture those looks?  If you're a fan, you know what was going on here & what a big deal it is!]

Have a great weekend, bloggy friends!

Friday Thoughts

one. [spoiler alert] Just watched the Office from last night.  One of my favorite episodes ever.  I've been really nervous about Michael leaving the show, but they're doing a really good job with it so far.  And I just love him with Holly.

two. Haven't put anything new up in the shop the last few days because I've been working on several custom orders.  Interested?  E-mail me [ten.thirtyone@yahoo.com] or click "request custom item" on the left side of the shop.

three. I've seen God lately...in the encouragement from bloggy friends (& real-life friends who I didn't know read my blog...).

four. etsy dreaming...

oy with the poodles already

Just re-watched (or re-re-re-watched) the last season of Gilmore Girls.

And every time I see this scene, it's like I'm seeing it for the first time.  And my heart breaks.

So glad that just a few episodes later, I get this much happier one.
Or something like it...I couldn't find the exact right clip.

I miss those Gilmores & Stars Hollow-ers.

miscellany monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

{one} I have a fabulous day planned.  Meeting Cait this afternoon for some much-needed catching up time.  Remember when I lived with this girl & her constant encouragement every.single.day?  Yeah, that was great & I miss it.  Then tonight we'll meet up with her boyfriend (I finally get to meet him!) & go to Live Link!  P.S. You need to check this out ASAP & link in tonight for an awesome worship experience with people all over the world.

{two} Even though I have that fabulous day planned, I'm sitting here in my uniform of choice: leggings & a sweatshirt...& really have no desire at all to put on real clothes.

{three} Last week at Bible Study, the girls & I talked about Anna.  You hear about Anna & Simeon lots of times, but I feel like I really got to know her last week.  In only a few verses, we learn that she was a woman who was willing to serve God no matter what it took.  Her husband died after they'd only been married 7 years & she lived the rest of her life in the Temple.  When others would've been encouraging her to get married again & have children, she chose to serve God in the way He was calling her to.  Goes to show that even when we're in a stage of life that we didn't foresee, or one that may not have been part of our plan, His is much better & brings more glory.  {Read Anna's story in Luke 2.}

{four} This week I was reunited with my favorite TV friends: Bones & Booth :)

As predicted, within 5 minutes after the show started, my mom & I were planning Booth's girlfriend's death.  I do not like at all that he thinks they are serious as a heart attack.

{five} Last week when I was running, I came across this:

Pretty sure that this is a sign that Booth & I end up together for all eternity.
Sorry, Cait & Kinlie :)

{six} Has anyone else started listening to Christmas music already?  I have & I love it.
{seven} I think I am wayyyy too caught up in Harry Potter.  I'm reading the last book for the 1st time.  I always have a hard time starting those books...I'm intimidated by so many pages.  But, I started early so I would have time to finish it before the movie comes out on November 19.  And...I won't have any problem finishing it by then.  I'm so sucked in to this story that I'm dreaming about You-Know-Who & horcruxes & hallows.  Annnd I'm SO jealous that Meredith is going to the new park over her intercession.  Lucky high school girls with their unnecessary breaks from school.

Ok...guess I should finally put some real clothes on & get moving...

bring on the Bravermans

Have I said that I'm so ready for the Bravermans to be back in my life?  Because I am.

And if you don't know them yet, you should get acquainted.  A few episodes of Parenthood are online...sadly, not all :(  But check here or here.

If you don't fall in love with Max & Jabar & Adam & others immediately...we may need to check your pulse.

I had no idea about this show until after the first few episodes last year.  But it had me from hello, so I caught up & have been in love ever since.

So in case you were wondering what I will be doing next Tuesday at 10...now you know.

Cait, don't read this yet!

I think my heart just started beating normally again.

Grey's = most intense, depressing two hours of television I've ever watched in my life.  I haven't recovered from Private Practice last week yet, & now they throw that on me?!?!  What was ABC thinking?

I like drama.  As in TV drama, not drama queen drama.  I do not, however, like wondering whether any of the cast is going to be alive at the end of the show.

For awhile, I was wondering if the economy was so bad that ABC couldn't have that many characters on one show & they were killing them off for financial reasons.

Now, I'm in need of some TV therapy.  Bring on the Office.  Jim Halpert never fails to make me smile.

And on the Office, I can guarantee...
no GSWs
no transfusions
no one dying in elevators

no girls making out
no SWAT team
no shooters
no miscarriages
no death
no near-death
no blood.

Goodbye, Seattle.
Hello, Scranton.

My TV Friends

I get really attached. When I cry during a show, it's not just because it's emotional. It's because whatever emotional thing is happening is happening to my friends. No, I'm not a loser who just sits around and watches TV all the time, but I do get very attached to my friends there, whether they be in Seattle, Scranton, or on a remote island in the South Pacific.

Proof of my attachment:

  • Last night Beth called me crying when Grey's went off & made me promise to call her at work today when I watched it. I did. We mourned together.
  • At one point today, I was simultaneously texting Caitlin & Sara about our TV friends. Caitlin about how George would've stepped in front of that bus again if he had it to do over just because that's the kind of man he is. Sara about how she's marrying Steve Carrell & I'm marrying John Krasinski & we're going to be each others' children's godparents. Yes, we actually had that conversation.
  • I was actually a little miffed with Ben when he didn't watch Lost when he told me he would. So last night I made him come in my room & watch it, knowing I'd fall asleep...I just needed to make sure he watched it so we could discuss it (he has all kinds of smart-person theories).
  • When I watched Lost the other night, I sat holed up in my room in the dark while Case was downstairs watching The Little Rascals. I went down in every commercial to discuss it with her & she listened even though she didn't understand &/or care. That's true friendship.
  • I've called/texted Case at least 3 times today to see if she's watched The Office yet.
So...to my friends:
Dear George, I'm really going to miss you. I'm proud of you though. First because you weren't leaving Seattle because it was easy, but because you truly felt that you would be a good trauma surgeon & could help in Iraq. And I know you would've been great. They don't know it, but a lot of soldiers missed out on the chance of working with such an honorable man. And that woman you saved...she'll remember you for the rest of her life. I know you would do it again in a heartbeat.

Dear Izzie, I'm really hoping you pull through this...but not really expecting you to. I'm so glad you believed in Alex even when no one else did. Even for the little while that you've been together, you have changed him & brought out the best in him. You've worked hard all your life to become a doctor, & a very good one, at that. You'll be greatly missed at Seattle Grace.

Dear Jim & Pam, Congratulations! I can't wait to meet Baby Halpert! You two are so great together & will be such great parents. And this kid will be cuuuute. Jim, when you teared up in the hall, that was about the sweetest thing I've ever seen. Now hurry up & get married already!

Dear Sawyer, You couldn't have made me happier. You've finally let yourself love someone. You've been so good to Juliette. I know you're sad right now, & it just breaks my heart, but since Juliette made the bomb go off, hopefully things will go back to the way they were before Oceanic 316 crashed. I know that means you won't have met Juliette, but I think somehow you'll remember her & will find your way to her. I have faith that you can do that.
Dear Charlie, I've missed you so much since you died trying to save everyone else. I hope that since Juliette made the bomb go off, you'll come back. Claire & Aaron need you. You clearly love Claire & would be a great dad to Aaron. I'm holding out hope for you.
