I'm allowing myself ONE post before I get back to studying. Ugh. So ready for Friday morning when EVERYTHING will be finished! Yet...I may be a dork & cry when I turn in my last college assignment. I can just feel it coming.
So, remember that time a few weeks ago when I went to the beach?
And then didn't blog about it for a good TEN days?
Well, here it is.
2nd Annual TSF Beach Trip! Now...to explain that...TSF is a term that Em coined freshman year. It stands for Tru Sistas Fo'eva. No, not TruE SistERS FoRevER...the pronunciation is key, apparently. The TSFs are me, Bethany, Casey, & Emily. And they are just that...sisters forever...as cheesy as it sounds.
Last year before Em got married the 4 of us were FINALLY able to arrange a beach trip together (after several failed attempts). And it. was. perfect.
After that, we knew that it needed to happen again...hopefully annually, but at least before each of us gets married. So before June 12 when Case & Ryan get married...we had to go!
So we left EARLY Friday morning for St. Simons Island. Don't even know how to describe the rest of the trip. LOTS of laughs...seriously, my sides hurt for days. Ok, maybe not really, but they should have. But I love that we don't just laugh. We have a lot of really serious talks...I learn so much from these girls.
I've decided the best way to blog about this is through 2 lists. 1. Some funny things that were said. You probably won't understand, so just trust that they were funny & giggle to yourself. 2. A list of all the reasons why we're either like four 83-year-old women or 13-year-olds going to the beach...not the young, hip 23-year-olds that we clearly are.
List Numero Uno
- Em: "God didn't make the ground for peeing...that's what He made toilets for!"
- Em: "Case, you have to promise me not to go to that fair in LaGrange...they shoot people there."
- Em: "You know I live with my butler now...don't do a lot of driving. He drives Miss Daisy."
- Case: "Yo yo yo, it's DJ CT...gonna be playin' some jams for you."
- Em: "I wonder if that guy in that car will talk to me." [referring to the guy next to us at a redlight]
- Case: "He just made me nervous...I felt like we needed to talk to someone with teeth."
- Beth: "This is like an ad campaign for an obese family." [because of all the snacks we had in the car]
- Em: "Dude, where's my cheeseburger?" Case: "You mean dude, where's my car?" Em: "Oh...but it sounded so right."
- me: "Shostak shaved ice? It was gonna be Heavenly Ice until that Shostak boy put a ring on it & you put his name in it."
- Beth: "I like kinda nerdy guys. Nerdy cool."
- Beth: "Don't you just wish your life was High School Musical?"
- Beth: "Her spirit needs to be on a walker." [I think referring to how we say Case is an old spirit...don't really remember.]
List Numero Dos
- We packed snacks for the road & made "good time."
- The journey began around 5:30 AM. Yes, AM. Ok, so really what had happened was...Em & Case picked me up around 7...but it began for THEM at 5:30.
- A Snuggie was on board.
- We took picnics to the beach.
- Kids REALLY liked us. Seriously, at one time there were like 5 kids playing with us on the beach. Who else sits on the beach building sandcastles with the children of strangers? Us apparently.
- One of us has one of those internal alarms already & wakes at least by 8:00 every morning.
- Another of us wore 80 SPF sunscreen. Yes, EIGHTY. I'm not sure that I knew that existed. And strangely enough, she still got the most burned.
- One of us read a TEXTBOOK on the beach. Ok, let's just go ahead & state the obvious...#7 & 8 were Bethany Marie. The rest of us aren't that committed. Or studious. Or at a point where we have to read a textbook on the beach.
- We were in PJs by 8 or 9 both nights & watched High School Musical 3 & a Hallmark movie.
- There were more, but being 83, I can't remember them & lost the list where I'd begun writing them down.
If you're not Beth, Case, or Em, I commend you for suffering through this!
Reward: pictures. And when you get to the last one...don't even ask. Apparently when people get engaged/married, they go insane.
