snow leads to iTunes binge

I am totally ok with spending a whole day at home in my pajamas watching movies & playing games & reading.  but apparently, I don't handle two days like that in a row very well.  I think it's just because I don't really have the option to go anywhere (there's so much snow & ice covering my car, pretty sure it wouldn't move if I wanted it to).  

so what do I do?  apparently I spend a lot of time browsing iTunes.

it all started because I had some money left on a gift card I got for Christmas.  so, naturally, I bought the latest JJ Heller album that I hadn't gotten yet.  

she's my #1 girl right now.  if you haven't heard here, these are my favorites from the albums I feel I've devoted enough time to to properly pick favorites: Your Hands, Tonight, All I Need, Keep You Safe, When You Come Back, The Pretty & the Plain, Little Things.  go listen.  you'll love me for it.

then after that...things got a little crazy.  before I tell you about my next purchases, know this: my mom was 21 when I was born.  practically a child.  so I grew up listening to her music.  such as the Air Supply songs that I bought.  for you young ones (& by that I mean you) who don't know who Air Supply is, remember the song Dermot Mulroney (sigh...) sings in the shower on The Wedding Date?  I'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you...that's Air Supply.  my mom is also the reason why I have a strange affinity to music like Captain & Tennille, Dr. Hook, & the Partridge Family.

& then I somehow remembered The Killers' song Romeo & Juliet that I love & don't have anymore.  so I got that.  & their Mr. Brightside...purely because I love the scene on The Holiday when Cameron Diaz "sings" it.

so...I'm banning myself from iTunes.

in other news, I got a sweet little blogger award from Savannah (go check out her brand new blog!).

I have to write 7 things about myself [going to try really hard to come up with some things you may not know] & then award some bloggers.

one. this is my favorite hot chocolate.  my grandmother gives me a big box every Christmas.  I've had 3 cups today.  my favorite flavors are raspberry, mint, & graham.  I got addicted freshman year of college.

two. every time snow slides off the roof it makes me think of an avalanche, which makes me think of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers & makes me really want that movie.

three. I really need a house or apartment (meaning I really need a job) because I just have the itch to decorate lately.  it's going to be so cute & funky.  you are all invited for a tour (or virtual tour) once I actually have it!

four. when I want to start watching a new tv show, I have to watch from the very beginning.  I feel very committed.  recently I decided I had to watch How I Met Your Mother.  & have now seen every single episode.  I'm a little ridiculous about these things.

five. I love blog decorating.  I have to stop myself from re-decorating mine every few weeks.  it's an addiction.  I did this one & this one recently.  And working on one for my dear, sweet, Case who is starting has allowed me to talk her into starting blog this weekend.  :)

six. I really want to have season tickets to the Fox Theater one day.  or whatever theater I live near.  but I really love the Fox.  adding that to my bucket list.

seven. I'm running out of room on my movie shelf.  which really messes me up because I have them all alphabetized.  same with my books...they're not alphabetized, but they're in a very specific order.
