Listening to Creation

I was just thinking tonight about how God used the star to lead the shepherds to Jesus. I love nature - sunrises, sunsets, waterfalls, rocks, rain, flowers, stars...you get the picture. They all sing to me - shouting God's praise. This thought led me to 2 conclusions:

  1. A star. We see a million of them on a clear night. What would He have to use to get our attention now? If Jesus were on Earth tomorrow, what would God do...send out a mass text message? Update His status? Tweet? [Can you imagine that? In today's news, @Jesus is back on Earth.] I feel like God speaks to us in so many ways that we don't even take the time to recognize. We don't seek to see God in everything.
  2. Sometimes it's easy to see something beautiful in nature & think "oh, that's pretty..." & nothing more. But God placed these beauties on Earth to bring Him glory. However, as beautiful as these things are, we are the only part of God's creation that He says are made in His image. That makes humans about a zillion times more beautiful than what we find in nature. How often do we recognize that kind of beauty in people?
